US to supply AMRAAM missiles to Ukraine

The U.S. Department of Defense has signed a contract with Raytheon Missiles and Defense for supplying AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) to Ukraine in a contract worth $192 million.

In a press release the Pentagon stated “This contract provides for Raytheon purchasing fielded AMRAAM weapons from various sources. Work will be performed at Tucson, Arizona, and is expected to be completed by November 29, 2024.”

The number of missiles and delivery dates are not specified.

The AMRAAM is an American all-weather guided medium-range air-to-air missile and are designed to engage airborne targets beyond the visual line of sight.
