Russia fires on Israeli aircraft over Syria

Israeli Channel 13 News reported on 16 May that Russian forces fired on Israeli fighter jets with S-300 anti-aircraft missiles in northwestern Syria last week.

The incident reportedly happened at the end of an Israeli Air Force (IAF) attack on targets in northwestern Syria.

The incident occurred on Friday night, when the IAF targetted several sites near the city of Masyaf in northwestern Syria in a move that could signal a significant shift in Moscow’s ties with Israel.
