Oshkosh Defense, a subsidiary of Oshkosh Corporation, has received a contract modification valued at USD 29.9 million to incorporate next-generation autonomous technology into the Remotely Operated Ground Unit for Expeditionary Fires (ROGUE-Fires), with deliveries set to commence in 2025.
The company stated that the contract, awarded by the US Marine Corps Systems Command, underscores Oshkosh’s dedication to providing innovative solutions that enhance operational effectiveness and support the US Marine Corps’ objective of securing and defending critical maritime areas.
Oshkosh stated that the execution of the contract will be carried out in collaboration with Forterra, a partner specializing in ground-based autonomy.
ROGUE-Fires is designed to improve the US Marine Corps’ ability to deny access to maritime areas by advancing multi-domain superiority over adversaries and facilitating the swift deployment of Marine forces. The sophisticated autonomous driving technology integrated into ROGUE-Fires offers the US Marine Corps enhanced adaptability, scalability, and robustness in challenging operational settings. By minimizing the reliance on human operators in perilous combat situations, this technology bolsters battlefield effectiveness, which is essential for achieving success within the United States Indo-Pacific Command.
“Through our trusted partnership with the Marine Corps and collaboration with industry leaders like Forterra, Oshkosh Defense remains committed to equipping the U.S. Marine Corps with advanced solutions that establish dominance across all domains,” said Pat Williams, chief programs officer at Oshkosh Defense.
“ROGUE-Fires not only enhances mission flexibility and lethality but also directly supports the USMC’s modernization priorities, including sea denial capabilities, innovative formations, and optimized force design to meet evolving threats.”
