Rheinmetall to deliver 120 medical stations to the Bundeswehr 

The Federal Office for Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) has contracted Rheinmetall to provide as many as 120 medical stations for the Bundeswehr in a deal estimated to be in the high double-digit million euro range.

The initial delivery of ten ballistic-protected systems and six unprotected systems is planned to occur between 2025 and 2027. The agreement additionally encompasses an option for an additional 104 armoured and unarmoured systems, along with the necessary training for the relevant personnel.

These highly mobile aid stations are utilized by the Bundeswehr medical service to deliver surgical and internal emergency care to the armed forces. If required, the systems can be established and disassembled in the shortest time frame possible.

Each system includes an air conditioning unit, a power generator and an emergency surgery container equipped with the latest medical instruments. The aid-stations are part of the Bundeswehr’s Modular Medical Facilities (MSE) system which comprises military treatment facilities, trauma centres and combat support hospitals utilized in Bundeswehr areas of operation.
