The Polish Armament Agency announced on 8 January that it had received a shipment of 29 additional M1A1 Abrams main battle tanks (MBTs) along with 79 Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected (MRAP) All-Terrain Vehicles (M-ATVs) from the US.
This is the third batch of M1A1 Abrams tanks that were purchased in January of last year to meet the needs of the Polish Armed Forces. The delivery includes 29 M1A1 MBTs as well as 79 mine-resistant MRAP Oshkosh M-ATV vehicles, which were purchased on July 31st of last year through the EDA program (Excess Defense Articles).
