DOLL Fahrzeugbau GmbH has provided the German Bundeswehr with 31 new semi-trailers designed to carry heavy tracked vehicles.
Present at the delivery of the final vehicle from the first firm order was Vice-Admiral Carsten Stawitzki, Head of Equipment Department at the Bundesministerium der Verteidigung (BMVg), along with other high-ranking representatives of the Bundeswehr.
The handover ceremony took place at DOLL’s company premises in Oppenau, where Vice-Admiral Stawitzki praised the fast and uncomplicated delivery that was made possible by the framework agreement signed with DOLL on June 1, 2022.
In June, DOLL entered into a framework agreement with the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) for a total of 249 militarised semi-trailers, each with a payload capacity exceeding 70 tons (SaAnh 70t mil). This agreement includes the firm order for an initial consignment and provides the option of triggering further deliveries.
A second consignment has already been ordered from this contract, making it possible to hand over the last vehicle from the first consignment and the first vehicle from the second during this event.
DOLL has successfully completed the first firm order three months ahead of schedule, allowing the second consignment to commence as early as 2023 instead of 2024.
“A partner, such as DOLL Fahrzeugbau GmbH, who not only delivers high quality and on time, but even beats delivery targets, significantly advances our procurement”, stated Major General Thorsten Puschmann, the Military Vice President of the BAAINBw.
DOLL manufactures a trailer type specifically designed to transport heavy tracked and wheeled vehicles. During the contract signing, the project manager in charge at the BAAINBw emphasized that these new semi-trailers, along with the newly procured tractor units, will serve as the backbone of military heavy haulage in the future.
The SaAnh 70t militarized semi-trailers are used by the Bundeswehr for transporting and recovering various types of vehicles, including the Leopard 2 A6M/A7V main battle tank and its variants, as well as tracked and wheeled vehicles.
DOLL is a top provider of transportation vehicles for heavy-duty products utilized by NATO armed forces, specifically tracked vehicles and heavy combat vehicles weighing over 70 tons. The company operates globally, serving armed forces in various countries including Great Britain, the Netherlands, Canada, and the Baltic States.
Markus Ehl, representative of DOLL, states that they consistently improve their products to meet the demands of modern armed forces, thus expanding their expertise and ultimately benefiting their customers.
