L3Harris Technologies has been awarded a USD 263 million contract by the US Army for the ongoing production of the Enhanced Night Vision Goggle – Binocular (ENVG-B).
The contract is the second order issued under the full-scale production Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity program, following a comparable contract granted earlier this year.
L3Harris has supplied the US Army with over 18,000 ENVG-B systems thus far, offering superior Figure of Merit levels and digital overlays that enhance operational performance. The company stated that it is committed to further improving the ENVG-B and related technologies by investing in advancements in night-vision technology, artificial intelligence, and the development of open-system architectures, thereby augmenting the essential capabilities of the numerous systems that the US Army will deploy.
“Our innovative fused night-vision technology provides U.S. soldiers the most sophisticated capability available to identify and engage targets in limited light before adversaries see them,” said Sam Mehta, President, Communication Systems, L3Harris. “With the ability to extend the system as a communication hub or sensor, we can increase soldiers’ situational awareness and drive connectivity with the larger Integrated Tactical Network.”
“The defense industrial base in New Hampshire contributes immensely to our national security – and this new investment in L3Harris’ ENVG-B program will continue to fuel production of cutting-edge night vision capability for the warfighter in Londonderry,” said Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H. “I’m proud of the L3Harris workforce here in New Hampshire and the important work they are doing to enhance our national defense.”
