Elbit Systems to deliver Advanced Self-Protection Suite for Israel’s F-16I

Elbit Systems Ltd has been awarded a contract from the Israel Ministry of Defence (MOD) worth approximately USD 80 million for the development and initial installation of an advanced Airborne Self-Protection Suite on the Israeli Air Force’s F-16I fleet.

The agreement stipulates that the company will provide the Israeli Air Force with advanced self-protection systems aimed at significantly improving the survivability of the F-16I aircraft, thereby ensuring its safe operation in hostile environments.

This system will feature a sophisticated Electronic Warfare (EW) solution, coupled with an innovative Electro-Optical (EO) Passive Missile Warning and Launch Detection System (PAWS), which will offer enhanced defence against a variety of threats, thereby increasing the safety of both the aircrews and the aircraft.

“We are honored to be once again selected by the Israel Ministry of Defence and the Israeli Air Force to equip the F-16I fleet with our most cutting-edge self-protection suite,” said Oren Sabag, General Manager of Elbit Systems ISTAR & EW.

“In today’s global landscape, safeguarding aerial platforms is crucial. Elbit Systems has cemented its position as a global leader in airborne platform protection, delivering an extensive portfolio of advanced solutions installed onboard various aerial platforms.”
