BAE Systems awarded contract to support US Navy’s AEGIS Combat System

In November 2024, BAE Systems was granted a five-year contract valued at USD 251 million by the US Navy to provide the AEGIS Technical Representative (AEGIS TECHREP) organization with essential large-scale system engineering and on-site technical support for the intricate combat system configurations utilized by the US Navy, the Missile Defense Agency, and the Foreign Military Sales programme.

“For more than 40 years, BAE Systems personnel have collaborated closely with Sailors and civilians to enhance and modernize the fleet of AEGIS-equipped surface ships,” said Lisa Hand, vice president and general manager of BAE Systems’ Integrated Defense Solutions business.

“Our team possesses extensive expertise in AEGIS and Ship Self-Defense Combat Systems, combined with the agility, innovation, and technical skills necessary to provide the U.S. Navy with the safe and effective combat capabilities required to achieve its mission goals.”

The contract will see BAE Systems deliver services in systems engineering, testing and evaluation, logistics, system acquisitions, and cybersecurity. The company has played an important role in expediting the digital transformation strategy of the Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems by creating and implementing advanced digital analytic tools across all relevant areas.

These tools facilitate near real-time assessments of mission impacts due to software deficiencies, thereby enhancing the focus on optimal investment in advancing essential combat capabilities for the US Navy.
