Babcock International Group has secured a second contract from NATO’s Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) to offer specialized guidance on wargaming initiatives for the Alliance.
Located at the JWC in Stavanger, Norway, and functioning throughout NATO’s command headquarters, this one-year contract will enable Babcock to assist in the design, execution, and oversight of professional wargames aimed at strategic and operational level participants.
Jo Rayson, Managing Director for Babcock’s Training Business, said: “Wargaming is critical for developing military strategies and maximising battle readiness – and as a leading provider of individual and collective military training, Babcock is ideally suited to support NATO as it evolves its wargaming offering.”
Wargaming serves as an essential mechanism for creating a safe-to-fail environment that facilitates the testing and improvement of defence readiness. Additionally, it strengthens the command, control, and decision-making capabilities of headquarters.
Babcock is one of the foremost providers of training for the British Armed Forces, and this new training contract with NATO comes on the heels of a recently awarded five-year contract to supply subject matter experts for the execution of JWC exercise play functions.
