Denmark, Sweden to supply CV90 IFVs to Ukraine

The Danish government announced on Monday that the country will join Sweden’s donation of CV90 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) to Ukraine with a total contribution of EUR 241 million.

The defence ministers of Sweden and Denmark signed a joint declaration of intent to provide further support to Ukraine in the field of combat vehicles. Denmark will contribute financially with DKK 1.8 billion (EUR 241 million), and Sweden will support the procurement through the agreement concluded between the Defence Materiel Agency (FMV) and Ukraine in July of this year.

The package will include spare parts and ammunition and will also include an agreement for Sweden and Denmark to take care of post-delivery maintenance.

Swedish Defence Minister Paul Johnson said that Copenhagen and Stockholm will use their industrial potential to ensure the delivery of new CV90s to Ukraine.

“The CV90s have been and remain an important addition to Ukraine’s defence since Sweden delivered 50 vehicles earlier this year,” he added.
